Some real estate type shots with the lens:
Being able to shoot a 10mm is a luxury beyond all possibility with the DA15. And that's just one reason why I sold it and kept the Sigma 10-20. 15mm is way too long in tight spaces.

Two more swimming pool photos at 10mm with the 10-20mm/3.5:

James, the swimming pool & real estate shots are excellent--you know how to show off the lens. Good thing it is still cold here in New England, because those swimming pool shots would be even more inviting otherwise. Keep these coming.

I too find tremendous value in the "luxury" provided in the Sigma zoom--it is, partly, what sold me, though the lens has many other merits too. The 8-16 does some amazing stuff too.

The 10 year warranty is another biggie. That inspires confidence and screams QUALITY that the manufacturer is willing to stands behind. Like it or not that will never happen with Pentax. Had the 8-16 had been available when I bought the 10-20, I'm sure I would have gone that route. When it comes to zooming with your feet, those extra 2mm are more than a few steps. And if zooming with your feet was such a great idea, don’t you think we’d have all just settled for a fast fifty?

WOW, Kevin, those are beautiful photos. I particularly like the foggy hillside. Is that a bamboo forest?

Spring is finally taking hold here, and the ice on the pond is melting back. Got this one the other day:

Thanks Tamia ! Yes, it's a bamboo forest but it was very steep and a little wet underfoot so pretty dangerous to go walking in it this time. I was actually standing on one of the tracks that criss-cross the mountain at the time of that shot.

Good to see Spring is on it's way to you at last !

After seeing so many great photos I finally gave in and got myself the "slow" version of the 10 - 20. First outing with it and I'm loving the step up from the kit lens.

Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC

Just got a Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC last week. Wasn't sure which one to get - the 3.5 or the old one but I figured what the heck for 150 bucks more why not.

Haven't done much with it yet. Just a quick hand held snap shot at 10mm of prairie farmland...

Is that a simple HDR or a single shot? Very dramatic clouds.
Is it really sloping down to the left or are you suffering from the same problem I always have?

Just a single frame. The dramatic clouds are very characteristic of a prairie sky. In fact that's all there is out there - the land and the sky and the wind. A very difficult landscape to capture with just an image. BTW those trees on the horizon are about 2 miles away.

The slope is pretty much accurate for a hand held shot. This is rolling prairie country in the SW part of Minnesota and the land did slope off to the left just as you see.
