This is one advantage to Compact Flash: a little harder to lose, as I'm finding now. I like the 1st shot--is that HDR of an level?
Thanks! Actually no, it's not HDR, just the K-5 doing what it does so well.

With all due respect, I must comment. Icarus is the metaphor for the Folly of Youth.
Yes, of course, but that's focusing on just a single aspect of his character. Look at it as a 'what if' - what if he had survived the crash and lived on to be my age? Anyway, if I'm stretching the more positive interpretation of the character beyond the limits, at least I'm not the only one, as the name has been used for naming spacecrafts, moon craters, journals, festivals, as well as airlines and other companies.

Perhaps we should take this offline though. It's a tad off-topic.

I especially like the first shot. The fading rainbow adds to the illusion of depth.

Thanks for these! Loved the pictures of Shirakawa-Go. Don't know when I'll get to Japan again, but can't complain. Here is a shot from the lovely village of PSATHOPYRGOS on the south shore of the gulf of Corinth in Greece.

@Bergwerk: perfect use for the lens! Can't wait to see the final result.
@ihasa: love the rainbow shot.
@jva59: great stuff you got there. Especially the airport and the harbor one are fantastic!

Sau, I love how you use UWA in the 2nd shot--refreshing, and eye catching. More of us need to catch on to doing this with our UWA. The shot would benefit from removing the edge of the 2nd flower on the right edge though. The other shots are nice too.

although I would have love to get some images like this, suffering from acrophobia and vertigo makes it difficult for me to do so.

A few shots from Koufonisia, one of the little Cyclades in the Aegean and a truly lovely place.
