I can't say I'd ever take similar photos, but I admire the creativity and foresight to take such photos. How long does your exposure have to be to get such photos with the sky like that? It is impressive with the sun in the shots. I'm guessing you must have had a ND filter to pull it off?

I definitely like it when people do things differently.

(starting the thread from the back made me miss that in your preceding posts you discuss the 9 stop ND filter).... I have to say wow to that, too. This thread and the related other ultra-wide lens threads are making me itch for one of these lenses. I've always settled for stitching panoramas, but the idea of using wider shots (17mm is my widest ability right now) is quite tempting.

Fully agree. The second one is so smooth and the red tone makes it a favorite for me.

Cheers guys - not played with the colour at all in the second. A touch underexposed at 246 seconds which has made the reds richer and made the horizon more of a silhouette.

Nothing as nice as some pics people has posted lately, but I had to get out of town, even only 20 miles north, I just liked these trees, almost spooky looking.




And this isn't a 10-20 capture (I took it with my 60-300mm Tamron), but the mountains were pretty yesterday.

I happened to cross the Jose Rizal Bridge today and this is what I saw. I shot some work related photos earlier in the day and forgot that my camera was set to jpeg. Aggggh!

You did a real nice job metering to capture the green of the Borealis, even though you had the challenge of that bright light source in the lower right hand corner.
