Sagitta and Disco_owner-- wow. I want this lens so bad, but have to wait a while! I thought I might get one last week!
I'd say go for it.. it is really nice to be able to go Wide and nail it with a single shot.

+1

always wanted to capture a decent lightening shot and never been able.
catching Lightning is a bit like fishing i find , with camera set up on tripod and lens in focus , I set the ISO anywhere between 400-800 Exposure 5-15s and keep firing one after the other till you get one. it happens so quick so forget trying to Photograph it using a remote or your finger on shutter.

Is this lens being discontinued or replaced? A lot of stores don't have it in stock. (Version F/4-5.6)

The 4-5.6 version is the older version.
B&H seems to have them both in stock

Agree with others, these are spectacular shots. If I may ask, whereabouts were they taken?

Thank you Guys , I'm really embarrased now to post any more images.

@ Adinfinitum , All of the shots here are taken from various location in NSW southcoast regions near Bermagui , narooma , moon bay , Jamison point , potato Point , surf beach etc , Look them up on Google map and everywhere along the coast there are fantastic compositions to shoot. Thanks again for all your comments.

Loving this lens more and more. I haven't had the chance to REALLY play yet, but what I have been able to do so far has impressed me.

And this isn't landscape, but have a razor sharp 20mm portrait shot taken wide open at f/3.5. This lens is just incredible. (The butter smooth bokeh when you DO manage to actually get some doesn't hurt either)
