I've found the 10-20 to be an excellent 'people' lens. I hesitate to call it a portrait lens because by its nature it captures the subjects and their environments, but it still does wonderfully that way. I call it a 'dinner table' lens - you can snap the person you're eating supper with along with whats around them and it does it beautifully.

My mother...

My wife...

My younger son (twice, one year apart... I'm due for installment #3 soon)

yes, that is the spot - love that you found it on Google Earth, lol.
I'm sorry you feel it is too bright - I am ok with how it came out myself as i had more of a surreal concept in mind for the processing.
The starburst is just the normal performance of the lens without any filter.
regards!
Mike
Mike: Little bit late catching up on some threads but I just wanted to comment that both the cable car turnaround & the Lombard St. shots were outstanding. I spent a number of months in SF in the late 60's when my ship was dry docked at Hunters Point Shipyard. I rode the cable cars a lot, and I have been up and down Lombard St. on several occasions. Would love to attend one of your workshops as SF is a lovely town.

Thanks Meddoc.
These are just single shots (I would not know how to focus stack!!)
It was one of my first days out with the lens and just seemed to work OK.
I haven't used it as much as I could have, but I have a coastal holiday coming up, so hopefully...

Death Valley

My K-5 IIs and Sigma 10-20 3.5 took a little motorcycle ride for 8 days around Death Valley in February.

If anyone is interested, I did a long report with about 500 photos from Death Valley on a motorcycle forum here: Wanna ride Death Valley with me?
