I'm only interested in the tricks that take something away from an image, for me photography is a process of subtraction...not addition - for instance would
this image have been anywhere near as effective if the clouds were sharply rendered? in my opinion, no. Having the clouds blurred, and the direction of that blur takes the focus away from the clouds themselves and it leads the eye to the buildings and the streets.
