Woah, major typo: I meant I almost never used it between 18 and 24, not between 18 and 55! I used the 28-55 range a *lot*, though mostly clumping right around 28 and around 40. So for me, it's a 28 that is the next logical prime after the 15 (and 40 after that). I did borrow a 24 for a while recently since that seems a more "logical" point between 15 and 40, but I just couldn't get into it. Of course, I wasn't into 28mm at first, either, so I'm not saying this wouldn't change. But 21mm just seems too far away from anything I normally shoot for me to have really considered it too seriously. The only reason I considered it at all is that I was concerned 15mm would be *too* wide - that the shots I was taking at 18mm would be better at 17mm or maybe 16mm, but 15mm would be pushing it. Borrowing the DA14 on occasion is what me fear that. But the first time I tried the DA15, it just instantly felt natural to me.

The 15mm is to me quite a specific focal length. This thread inspires me to find more ways to experiment with it. So I'd love to contribute:

Thanks for the nice comments. I am really happy how the sun turned out. Amazing how well the lens handled that.

Here are two shots of another type. Subject very close by, camera on the ground. A specific application, but given the right subject it works very well. Like Marc shows in his shots too.

thanks for answers
I use a Rodenstock slim, multi-coated. No vignetting. They are not cheap but it's the only good quality one I could find. Be aware that with such a wide FOV, if you main goal is to darken the sky, a polarizer will give you an uneven darkening unless the angle of incidence is ideal. Feel free to experiment.

And that's why I hesitate to get the DA 16-45 f4 even though it's such a good price at Amazon right now. If it focused wide on the short end, I might consider it but extending to shoot wide and having to get close is hard to do sitting 2 feet away from someone...

But shooting from two feet away, there's a huge difference between the DA15 and the DA12-24 in that respect - you're *much* less intrusive with a small lens. Something people should consider when trying to decide how import size is.

There are a few more listed at B&H. 49mm circular polarizer filter slim

What does this lens (DA 15) look like mounted on a K-x?

A little bit like this. (Pardon the wrist strap attachment)

I might also add that this look is highly recommended.

I have the Sigma 10-20; what will the DA 15 do for me that the 10-20 can't?

It will do some of what the Sigma does in a much smaller space, say 1/3 of the volume.
