Thanks very much! For this image I took a series of 36 images with a 30 sec exposures at f5.6 and ISO 100. Then I stacked the images in Photoshop using the 'Lighten' blending mode. So the star trails correspond to a 18 min exposure and the rest of the image to a 30 sec exposure at dawn.
Yeah I was wondering how you got the trails without blowing out the city lights. Haven't tried that PP technique before, but might have to give it a try sometime. Great job blending for a very unique photo!

A shot with the 15mm Ltd / K5 on a backpacking trip near Mt. Hood. Got a bit chilly during the night, but a great view to wake up to.

Nice. I love hammock camping! When it gets chilly I put a sleeping pad in mine (Thermarest). Helps a ton!

Yeah hammock camping is awesome, a great way to get those views you might not get with a tent. I packed in my tent as well since my girlfriend isn't quite sold on the hammock idea......but normally a great way to save a few pounds. I brought a lightweight summer-ish bag, it got down to around the low 40's so kinda chilly. I did have my thermarest pad under me in the hammock which helped a bunch...only thing that got really cold were my feet and nose. We were right on the perimeter of a wet meadow, but with those temps the mosquito weren't buzzing around.

Sundial Bridge Redding CA

(This was one of the first shots for me with this lens where at F8, 1/8sec, ISO3200, and hand held, I started realizing how this is a "fast" lens..)

Took a nice drive last Thursday around one of the few bodies of water in Taiwan. It is a reservoir but there aren't many standing bodies of water on this mountainous island. The second half of the trip was taken with the K24f2.8

Love going down to Silver Falls SP, great hike to do during the cloudy/wet NW winters....everything is green and the waterfalls are huge.

Yeah I'd be there all the time if I lived nearby too! Two days was not enough! I just took a quick look at some of your amazing work! WOW

Thanks for the compliment! The NW has a lot to offer in terms of beautiful landscapes. Silver Falls has a ridiculous number of waterfalls, and they are all very unique....plus the way the trail is layed out allows for a ton of different angles that you might normally get.

Here is one of my favorites from Silver Falls, this is Middle Falls. The only thing that isn't unique with these falls are their names ...obviously with the 15mm Ltd

Wow that is a stunning shot! Middle Falls was down to a trickle compared to your shot, and it was one of my favorites of the 10 on the trail. I was really blown away by the beauty of Silver Falls and made the same comment to my wife as we left the park, that for all the beauty there, they could have come up with some more appropriate names to add some mystique!
