Have to be honest here: i didn't read all the posts in this thread but did see quite a lot of very impressive views. So. Maybe you 15mm addicts can help me out: is this a lens that can be useful for portraiture as well? Any samples of that?
(Please do not laugh at me. I know that longer lenses are more common for portraiture. But I try to find "semi-commercial" reasons for buying this beauty!)
It can work great for street portraits. See the 15 lens review on this forum...a great portrait of a street musician.

I wouldn't call it a portrait lens but it works for the right portrait.
Here's one from a couple of years ago when I was working in Indianapolis.

I wasn't a fan of formal portraits from this lens. You have to work hard to get a decent portrait, but it's possible. Also as mentioned it can be good for street shooting. I also think it may be a better portrait lens once Pentax adds more focus points in the VF, making them smaller and more accurate. With such a wide angle of view, I found that some of my portraits were a little soft near the subjects eyes if I wanted a full body shot from a distance. Up close, it was much sharper. I no longer own the 15 as I traded it for the FA* 24, much better than the 15 for portraits in my opinion. Here's two examples from the 15 that may or may not have been posted in this thread earlier.

I've been going on hikes lately with the Seattle Hiking and Photography meetup group, and yesterday we went out to Cascade Pass in the north Cascades. Hike continued out on to Sahale Arm where some of us found a nice little alpine pond with a view.

In our tiny 7 person group there were THREE Pentaxians. A k10, a k20 and me with my K7. I couldn't believe it!

The hotel

One of the last shots I took with my DA15 before I dropped it. It's in for repairs right now, I hope they
can fix it.

Regards,
--Anders.

The Light in this image is amazing , reflection of the colors on the rocks really lifts it to a different level.
