Picked this lens up yesterday, my very first prime and I have to admit that it's quite different to use than my other lenses.
Got some learning to do but I must say that I just love the fact that no matter how I screw the lens cap on the word Pentax always ends up straight and aligned.

Gad a great day hiking with my family in an amazing place, American Basin
Just googled it...looks like a pretty cool place thanks for sharing. I like that third photo btw...great contrast with the vegetation in the foreground and the jaggedness of the mountains behind.

Nice mono...judging by the appearance of the flag and clouds this seems a bit of a longer exposure, you using a filter for this?

Thanks! It's a stunning place, summer or winter.

I like the interesting tilted perspective and framing on this.

Here are a couple taken recently with the 15mm...

The Vietnam Memorial mobile wall during trip back to my hometown. I had to use in camera HDR to handle the range of light

Yup , I used a B+W 3.0 110 1000 ND Filters ( 10 Stop ) for that shot. and converted it to B&W with Silver Efex Pro 2.0.

How does HDR handle a broad light range if almost all HDR shots look fake and over saturated?

All depends on the processing (tonemapping) performed. I manually stack frames in GIMP and can generate some pretty "normal" looking HDR.

This was tonemapped in Luminance, and was complicated by the mixed light (Sodium Halide lamps are a bitch)
