I guess you are quite right. I am asking this as long as I have seen somewhere that the 21 limited can deliver some 25mm in FF under a X1.3 crop. I would love to know if the 15 limited could act as a 20mm, for instance, in a FF system. I presume it's not possible at all.
Check out this example of the 15mm on FF

Outstanding photos; particularly the first one. These are great examples of why so many of us love the DA15. They also bring me back to the time I lived in Oslo. Takk for det!

That first shot also illustrates how tricky the curved focus field of the DA15 can be - despite @f/8, the background on both sides is OOF while most of the center area is in focus. But for scenes like this, it still works very well, and the contrast and flare control is excellent. And it's just amazing how easy it is to use the DA15 on the K-5 with SR to do shots like this (0.3 seconds exposure hand held - made it possible to capture the motion and keep ISO at 1000).

I find that I can get the sides and corners to be sharp at f/8 by focusing behind the central focus point. In most cases this requires focusing past infinity, which is possible with my copy (and I believe most copies) of the DA15. The center may end up just slightly less sharp, but not enough to matter. I set the aperture to f/8 and crank the focus ring all the way to the hard stop. This results in an image that is sharp across the frame.

A few days ago I took some images with the DA15. Some with very near subjects I wanted to be sharp as also the farest background. So I focused hyperfocal. In the end I wasn't quite happy since some distant trees at right hand side weren't as sharp as i hoped and also the horizon wasn't as sharp as I hoped.

So I thought I could try focus stacking with Helicon Focus for such a scenario and did it next day. I am quite happy with the result. The image without retouch of some double artifacts in the foreground - f8, 4 images stacked, one near infinity.

After this test I think that you not only can get sharpness from near foreground to infinity but you can also work against field curvature unsharpness of the DA15 by using focus stacking technic - if the circumstances allow this. Don't know if someone else did this test with the DA15.

the 15mm limited really does control my mind. I told myself that I didnt need this lens, my 16-45mm or 12-24mm covered it, and yeah...that didnt work at all.Tthe $399 deal on at BH was too tempting and I now own a brand new HD DA 15mm. Pentax must be doing something right with the pricing because I'm buying their body and lenses new and not used.

Thanks, I'll try to experiment with that one day!

Somewhat off-topic: Now that the FF is out, what will control our minds in the future? I probably won't a gear budget big enough for the K-1 in the near future, but I'm pretty sure I will convert to FF eventually. And then I hope there will be a new compact "walk around wide angle" for the K-1. Maybe a re-release of the FA20? The 15-30 is a terrific lens, but I'm sure I wouldn't carry it around as much as I carry the K-5 with the DA15 around.

I would love a 20mm f3.5 or f4. I have always felt that having a smaller lens with less glass really helps control the flare and if there were a 20mm f2.8 lens, odds are that it will flare a lot worse than the DA 15.
