Pictures From Yesterday

KP & DA15.

I think the fourth makes a good stock photo. Love the scooters on the last one.

I've shot my da 15 on m43, but there is isn't very wide. Is that a half frame film camera or?

Yes, it's an Olympus Pen, half frame format: 18x24 mm! In portrait orientation (I wish that were the standard for APS-C cameras) I'm trying to modify some adapters for it since there isn't a real wide angle for the system. I have the 3.5/20, but it's foggy and only really a collectors lens. It's nice for it's size, but that's about it.
The DA 15 looks huge on it by comparison. Really dwarves that camera.
As of now, I can only control the aperture by setting it before mounting the lens and adapter on to the camera. I will have to get a machine shop to modify another couple of adapters/parts I got for this sole purpose to have a way of easily controlling the aperture. Although still by eye. I'll have to make use of a metered mirror model (no prism, but a set of mirrors is what makes it an SLR) with an adapted battery.

Since a half frame is a cropped field of view, I assume the angle covered is similar to micro 4/3? And the da 15 gives results like a 30mm full frame vs the 24mm it is similar to on apsc?
Btw I use an m43 adapter with a similar designed aperture control, eyeballing it works well enough I think.

It's the other way around. The crop factor on μFT is 2x. Most APS-C are ~16x24 mm, to keep the 3:2 aspect ratio of 36x24 mm film (full frame, nowadays). That means the DA 15 has to cover a bit more of area as it was designed for, but not too much. The crop factor for half frame is ~1.44x (by diagonal) and aspect ratio 4:3, so the DA 15 is equivalent to a 21.6 mm lens vs. 22.5 mm on a Pentax APS-C. It's even wider.

Good, guesstimating the f/ value by looking at the aperture will be the way to go, I figure.

I'm sure I posted a different angle in a different section. Here is another shot with the 15mm.

I'd like to know the story for how a 2009 lens has more wear and tear than a 1969 camera!

You'll have to ask the forum member I got it from.
The camera was probably stored and forgotten.
