Racoon at the camera trap. It's nice to get something early in the year while the flowers (Arrowleaf balsomroot) are blooming.
It's been a very wet and cool spring and activity at the watering hole doesn't usually pick up until late July or August.
I suffered my first camera trap vandalism this week: to a spring black bear. It failed to stop in front of the camera for a picture, instead choosing to knock my camera out of position and then chew up and destroy one of my precious remote Nikon SB-28 flashes. I caught him in the act with my monitoring trail cam, but it'd be nice if he'd pose for a real photo before destroying my set up.
