My first contribution to the thread, and YES I had succumbed to Jsherman magic! His pictures with this little lens are simply irresistible!

Taken at our little town annual classic auto shows.

Resistance is futile!

We had a gorgeous sunset yesterday in Seattle and the 15mm just LOVES sun, doesn't it?

.

Yes, it does, and this is pretty much a perfect capture:

Nice work David ... the DA15 is definitely wotrhwhile for car shows and shooting in the middle of the day ... flare control and colour/contrast/saturation are this lens' strong points indeed. In the midday sun as well. It's hard to find a lens that can do this anywhere.

Put it this way ... I haven't seen any other lens that performs this well when shooting at the "wrong" time of day.

@ Mechanlk (Simon). Thank you! I totally agreed with the colour/contrast/saturation, I especially like those little sunbursts effect reflect on the shinely body and chrome bumper! So the “wrong time of the day” turns out to be the best time for the DA15 to shine!

Thank you everyone for the great topic.
The DA15 controlled my mind for almost half a year. A friend of mine was going to visit Japan in January already, but he did so only in June, and today the lens had finally arrived.

Awesome. Just awesome.

Ive been dreaming of this lens for my next lba purchase, as i need a wider lens.
But i think (and i may be wrong) that it may not be wide enough, how much wider is this than a 18mm? I know its 3mm but does anyone have comparsion shots?

Angle of view:

18mm = 76 deg.
15mm = 86 deg

18mm seems much more narrow than 15 when you're shooting, believe me. But, that said, 15mm might not be wide enough for you, either, in which case the Sigma 10-20 or Pentax 12-24 are very good choices.

.

Before the divided highway was built in the 60's, my Exurb was an actual town,
and the people who lived there traveled on slender two-lane highways to get to
other nearby river towns for commerce and community. Now, those roads are
secondary, and even many locals bypass them for the faster freeway.

I decided to take the back road on an errand yesterday afternoon. A thunderstorm
moved through on the way there, but it had cleared and was off in the distance
on the way back. I was able to stop a few places, and the 15 took in what it
could in the fading light.

I am developing an acute case of DA 15mm lust thanks to this thread.

It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

jsherman999, inspiring again! Excellent.

I took the 15 out on the street. It will take some practice for me getting close to people, but to me it is worth it.

some recent shots..

in case you're wondering what the heck that 'thing' is.. it's a helium filled balloon with 5 projectors pointed at it. At night, it becomes the sun.. but during the day, it's a white fugly crappolla.
(taken with the 16-45)
