Simon, those are great! You always do a lot of fun wedding photography, and you've taken great advantage of the 15's strengths here. Small quibble -- I'm not sure how I feel about the vignetting in the second shot; was that added in post?

Vignetting!!?! The main concern is that she has broken her left arm on the back swing - there is very little chance of making solid contact from that position!

That's easy: Just buy a program called "Nik Silver Efex" and use the preset "Old Plate I".

Cheers

Jani Excellent stuff, great processing, I'm a big NIK fan myself, see below (color efex pro).

This would have been the perfect start to Single In May, but I was one day early..

well my DA15 arrived today, I needed a prime lens wider than the FA31 I have been using all these years - the Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX has served me well but let's face it, that lens is a brick and it isn't very flare resistant. So I divided the focal length of the FA31 and arrived at 15.5mm

When I first pulled the DA 15mm f/4 ED from it's pouch it reminded me of the jewel like Zeiss 21mm f/2.8 biogon for the Contax G2. If the lens was completely silver the illusion would have been complete, the built in lens hood is all felt lined goodness as is the lens cap. It is a small lens - very small, if it didn't have the built in lens hood it would be smaller than the petite SMCP-K 35mm f/3.5.

Central resolution from my DA15mm f/4 almost reaches FA31 levels at f/5.6 though the borders lag behind - flare resistance from the DA15mm f/4 is very impressive it clearly beats the Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED I have been using lately - though the nikkor lens is an FX lens and as a consequence it is absolutely massive, unlike the DA15mm which is quite pocketable.

though my biggest complaint about this lens is it's field curvature, it can be tricky to get the outlier portions of the frame in focus at certain distances - and the fact that my K-7 appears to be front focusing with it is annoying. Also one other thing I noticed when I was using the DA15mm f/4 is that the 1/125th shutter vibration from the K-7 can totally wreck images taken with it - which is bizarre because this is the first time I have observed the effects of the shutter vibrations and I have been using my K7 for roughly 17,000 frames. However, I suspect that it is because I have been using lenses that are very heavy and the additional mass has reduced the effect of the shutter vibrations - only when I have used a lighter lens the DA 15mm f/4 weighs in at 160g the lightest lens I have used on the K-7 so far is the FA77 Limited at 270g
