Thanks Downfall! You set the bar pretty high with the landscapes you post, they are fantastic!
Funny, they say the same thing about Downfall's macros. Maybe I could take really good photos too if I had one of them fancy filter thingies

Thanks, that is really nice to hear that from you! I bought myself a Hoya ND400 filter, but for this one I knocked it up a notch and stacked it with my Hoya ND8 filter

looks like he is using a hitech ND filter.
It is Hoya actually . What are the differences between the different brands? I dont know myself so I just want to know why you guessed Hitech?

Hitech and Hoya both use the same compound for staining the glass for ND filters and the compound causes a colour cast - I was looking at the white water, there is a slight magenta tint to it.

I personally use top of the line Lee filters, I'll have to post some of my work I have done with the Lee "big stopper" (ND10) - though using it on the DA 15 is going to be a nuisance with the built lens hood.

I recieved my ND filter that I have been loning for yesterday. So here is one of my first shots with it. I got inspired by all the nice ND-photos you find here on the web and also your photos in this thread, TOUGEFC, so thank you!

Ants eye view - the DA15 is great on cameras with a weak AA filter like the K10D

Ok I see, thanks for explaining. Yes I had my eyes on them before, I thought it would be nice to try some GND filters but then I read that it is not possible to use with the DA 15 so then I went for the ND filter instead.

Wow, those photos are amazing Downfall. Looks like I'll be adding a 10 stop Hoya to my wish list.

Here's a few shots from a recent trip to Milwaukee.

Thanks alot! Yes it is a really nice accessory

Here are two new ones I took today. They certainly dont have the same quality as the previous ones. These are taken when the sun was higher and the light was more difficult, so it is not a magical thing by definition but may be under the right circumstances

Seriously Twitch, you need to show your stuff to the Melbourne Tourist board. You have a wonderful way of presenting our great city.
