Love it! Doesn't look that cold to me based on how the snow is sticking. Sticky snow is usually relatively warm (as snow goes).

You are right! I think the temperature was somewhere in the minus 12-15 C range. 'Cold' is a relative sense, isn't it? Many of our forum members are probably thinking "Where's the sand?" "Where's your flower photo?" Haha. Anyways, it was indeed a beautiful morning with a bright clear sky and sun, and the K-5 performed flawlessly in the 'cold.'

Thanks for your compliment. I like you snow pics, also.

I placed an order for a Sigma 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6 EX DG a few days ago - I'll still keep my DA15mm f/4, because it is considerably smaller than the sigma zoom lens - and you can use filters on it. Even though the image quality from the DA15mm improves considerably in the corners on the K5IIs, it just makes the exceptionally high resolution from the centre of the lens stand out even more. The centre doesn't need sharpening - but the edges do. It is also a bit frustrating to be forced to go past the diffraction limit with the DA15*, on the K5IIs the whole idea or removing the AA filter is to capture as much detail as possible, the laws of physics are a harsh mistress.

Pentax K5IIs - DA15mm f/4 ED ASPH Limited 1/60th f/11 ISO 80

*
IMO the absolute best performance from the DA15mm f/4 ED ASPH is achieved at f/11~f/16, to obtain the absolute best image quality on the K5IIs the ideal aperture range is f/4.5-f/5.6 - many of my best lenses happen to put in stellar performance at this aperture range, some lenses FA31,FA77 and 50mm f/1.2 are superb at f/2.8, but the DA 15mm f/4 forces you to stop down to f/11~f/16 equalise resolution across the frame - at f/16 diffraction is painfully obvious.

Amazing thread. My interest in the 15 ltd is slowly but surely growing.

How does this lens do for shots of starry night skies?
I don`t have any good images due to location/light pollution. The lens works pretty good how ever.

Lots of PP with levels, brightness, contrast here.

Fantastic! Those are exactly the type of pictures I want to take. I was a little concerned about the speed of the DA 15 being a little slow, but it doesn't look like it will be a problem.

I will be actively pursuing the next DA 15 that appears in the marketplace.

A wall full of DA15 prints. The big ones are 150x60 centimeters, just to show that it is possible. The picture is also with the DA15, but obviously just a quick snap under poor lighting.

Very nice shot all, good to see this kind of shots from the DA15 as I be hedding out to Lapland soon. Hopefully I can see and capture some Aurora`s

Finally my first serious shootoout with this little gem
Still a bit struggleing with the fixed focal length (too much used to zooming with the DA*16-50) but it`s an awesome piece of glass. Shot this last night during a dutch pentaxforum meet in Rotterdam, NL:
