Thank you very much doglover. I was warned not to shoot alone at a location not too far from bilgola due to high tide being so close to sunrise. But i took my chances and swell wasn't that big. 1.6m. I've had to crop every shot i take with lee filters on da15 as there's slight vignetting in corners. I use an ultrawide lee ring adaptor screwed into a glassless 49mm ring so uwa doesn't foul on the da15 built-in hood.
I agree, it is a beautiful shot. It stopped me as I was scrolling through the page -- it doesn't have the DA15 "look". It's much more natural and elegant.

I've had the same problem with Cokin P-sized filter holders. I actually just bought into Lee so I could use the Big Stopper, but haven't used it on my DA15 yet. Now I'm wondering how the vignetting will compare.

Thanks! I would be interested to see you photos with that mount. So does it move along with the stars so there is no movement in the photo? If so, this would allow for lower ISO's / longer shutter speeds while still getting a static image of the star/galaxy?
Yes it does , here is the link iOptron

From their Site :The SkyTrackerTM is simple to set up. Just attach the unit to a camera tripod. Then slide and lock your digital camera into the saddle. Align SkyTrackerTM to Polaris, the North Star, using the included dark field illuminated polar scope. Then turn on the motor and it keeps your camera tracking at the same speed the earth rotates! The unique DC servo motor keeps your camera in motion to avoid star trails and allows you to take long exposures for beautiful images of the night sky. SkyTrackerTM runs on 4 AA batteries for portability at any location.

Thank you. I find Bigstopper on Da15 besides the Vignetting due to the 49mm ring offset also causes the lens to Flare.

If you're going to have flare, this is the way to do it. Lovely!

Like the rest of you, I love my 15mm lens. I have enjoyed viewing all of the other posts. I decided to share one of mine from last night.
