Just a beginner, but I was pretty happy with how this shot in NE Wisconsin turned out with the 15 and an nd400 filter:

We had another intense but quick snowstorm last night. Makes for a pretty morning!

Thanks, looks like I have to visit Arizona some time too
Nice shot with beautifull light (and the 15mm sunburst offcourse).

Nice shots, Matt. You certainly captured the feeling of a crisp fall morning.

I'm eagerly waiting for our first snowfall - things are brown and dull here after a glorious display of colour during the past several weeks! Our first lasting snow usually arrives mid-late November.

Thanks as well and judging by the looks of things out there, I've got to get to S. Africa someday too!

Thanks! I have already lost count of how many times it has snowed this year. Probably 8-10 already!
This is more than we typically get. Hopefully a sign of the winter to come!

Im off to Morocco in a week and we have a balloon flight booked for dawn - I know Im asking the converted, but if you had only one lens, would the 15mm be the one to take?
Im asking as Im looking to hire a lens for the balloon flight as my DA12-24 is in being repaired.

If the sun will be coming up and it's a clear day then you know you want the 15!

I got to shoot a balloon flight on July 4th to shoot photos for our city government and newspaper.
I took the 18-135 and the DA15, but never got the chance to change lenses (and was a little afraid to) so it was all shot with the 18-135 which did a fine job.

I bet it would have been good with the 15, but I did zoom in for some shots so the versatility was definitely a benefit.
K-5 & DA 18-135

Before we flew I got good use of the 15 for the ground shots.

Bottom line is you will probably be fine with just the 15, but that may depend on how you like to shoot too.
That's too bad about your 12-24 as I imagine that would be the ideal lens for this sort of thing.

First shots with the '15 and K-3. A rainy evening in the UK. Also my first ever attempt at fireworks in bulb mode.

Terrific fireworks, PL. Here's a shot of a piece of architecture that's a long way from home.

Had my 15 for almost a year now. Still my favorite lens.
