Very nice pics everybody!

Question for starburst lovers: how and where do you meter when you have the sun in frame? Multi-segmented metering, center weighted or spot metering ?

I am usually on center weighted metering. I usually do a multiple exposure burst, though and develop the photo that has the most detail (usually -1 EV).

Sorry! I don't know where everyone is! I plan to make a desert trip to Utah/Nevada some year and drive to the different parks for photography. Someday. I also want to head to southern Arizona for the cacti.

I often do this:
  1. aperture priority, dial in -1 EV
  2. meter with the sun just outside the frame
  3. AE-lock
  4. recompose with the sun in the frame (the intended shot)
  5. shoot.
That way the sun doesn't influence the metering.

Regards,
--Anders.

Thanks ! I'll try this stuff next time. Until then, some recent shots, after quite a break.
