Haven't posted here for some time, but recently re-acquired a Da 15 (SMC) after a hiatus, and that inspired me to post a few. These are all taken with a prior copy, but hope to be adding some new stuff in the not-too-far-distant future.

Yep, like Nicolas said, move the horizon down to the lower third, and also straighten it and you'll have an absolutely killer photo
I would take another approach: make it 16:9 (or something like that) from the base so that the sky is cut. I think this will give a really nice image. Try different approaches and you'll discover what works best for you.

+1 Don't hesitate to try many reframe in post and see if it works !!! The day also I learned I can use 1:1, 2:1, 4:3 and all the others or why not even any aspect ratio, my photography improved quite a bit!

And if you are not satisfyed, a day or another you'll go back there take another set of pictures.

Had to get up early for this one today. I think I will take a nap.

Stuck in the ice on Lake Huron, the captain wanted me to get some shots of the ice for the office, but I couldn't just take sterile, boring shots now could I?

The front office is like "You guys will be Cleveland on time, right?" Time to hunker down and wait for the Coasties with an ice breaker. Good photos.

I came across this photo from my birthday in May 2013. I had overlooked it before and decided a monochrome treatment would work best.
On this day the snow squalls would come in and create a whiteout, blow around for a while and then it would be sunny again. We tried to time the downhill ski portions of the tour with the sun and climb during the snow. It was a great day of skiing and climbing, my favorite way to spend a birthday! (x-post)
