This landscape photography does take some skill. But of course having the right tools for the job helps...
... even down on the "HARD CASE" used to carry the gear around. o|||||||o

From a visit to the Cathedral of Speyer today, this is from the crypt (the largest Romanesque columned hall crypt in Europe). Shot hand held at f/5.6 and 1/5 sec (ISO 1600), using a tripod or a flash is not allowed there. Best viewed against a black background:

Lovely photo. The light and atmosphere are wonderful. The three persons with the light at the back really make this.

Thank you! For this kind of photography the da15 might not be the first lens that comes to mind, but f/2.8 would not have given enough dof, and the light weight + SR makes it possible to shoot at 1/5 or even faster hand held!

The DA 15 is pretty capable of close up shots (I don't use it often for this as the bokeh gets pretty weird at times and the distortion is a little odd as well).

Thanks, Yeah I've shot over 50 infrared photos with it, during my last trip, and I have to find time to process them.

That does it, I've ordered an IR filter, 49mm of course!

Here's one I shot tonight. The carnival is back and close to my house. We will stay for a day to let my kid go and then we are going camping!

Cool, looking forward to your photos.
An IR filter help you continue making photos all day long! because best time to make IR photos is right in the middle of the day.

Sounds like a good idea... I was just looking for some new toy to play with and I don't have funds for a new lens right now
