The North of Spain can be quite rainy, with Galicia usually recording the highest precipitation values in the Iberian Peninsula. The Basque Country may be not that rainy, but it would be no surprise if you would find some rainy days in May. Actually this month is well-known by sunny hours combined with sudden rains and mild temperatures that could even reach values over 20ºC, but hardly below 8ºC. As long as you leave the coast it gets colder at night. This is quite typical from spring days at this latitude. As in the Galician territory, the Basque Country is very well regarded because of its excellent gastronomical culture. You will also find great coastal landscapes and lovely small villages there.
