LOL! NO

Actually, I looked under "used" on Amazon and couldn't believe my eyes. It was sold by Amazon Warehouse as "good" condition. Well, this is in pretty darn "good" condition. I would give it an 8 out of 10. The felt in the lens hood has some wear, but nothing that I wouldn't do to it with normal use.

As you can see, the deal was just too good to pass up.

Being my first limited, I am beginning to see what all the hype is about.

I enjoy your work!

I agree. I am beginning to see what all the hype is about. I see that this lens is quick to drink in a scene. It it easy to include many elements into a photo. In some ways, it is difficult to create a subject but I think this will get better as I get used to it.

I had this lens on my bucket list before I moved to Pentax. I jumped on with the K-5ii and at the time the lens was still very expensive. With the HD lenses replacing the originals and users switching to FF, many of the lenses on my wish list are dropping in price.

My dream team WAS
15mm limited >> Own it
40mm limited
70mm limited
50-135mm DA* >> Own it
16-50mm DA* >>> Now is the 20-40mm limed >> purchased and in the mail.

I am sure over time I will continue to collect the limited primes, but the 15mm is am amazing start. Maybe the 20-40 Limited will replace the need for the 21 and the 40. Only time will tell.

I own all of these:
15
40
70
50-135
20-40

I tend to carry the 15/40/70 or the 20-40, 50-135 with my k-3. I also have the FA 31 and FA 77 so these swap in from time to time. (I have too many lenses).

Overall the 20-40 is a nice lens but the DA 40 is different. I use it for street shooting and short portraits. I also find that the da 20-40 isn't nearly as strong as the 15 for flare control. But that doesn't mean I can't do without the 15 on a shooting trip.
