I didn't properly focus when taking the photo, so I was lucky to get this shot. I was a kind of forgot because it was windy and cold! ha ha, blame the weather.
I usually do 100% view and manual focus, and so on, but this Image, I only did one quick autofocus so that I can compose it on a tripod, then I just hit the remote control for a handful of photos and leave, totally forgot my working process!
Nice one, and first time seeing a link to Instagram here, cool, followed (eddysummersphotography).
I think focus is overrated lol, especially in todays medium where places like instagram yer not overly pixelpeeping and you can get the jist anyway. Other things like with your shot, long exposure, composition, colours, subject matter, they are more important than slightly off focus or not quite near perfect. Nice shot.

A picture from Venice this past summer. I've still got a ways to go until I'm competent (especially consistently so) with this lens... any criticism much appreciated!

Lovely shot, I sometimes wish I had the regular 'green' DA15mm for those superior star bursts over my silver 'red' DA15mm, tho it does match my silver KP rather nicely

I think it's a great shot.

Slightly off topic... is there any way to 'chuck' something over my silver 'red' DA15mm, a filter of sorts that might help with street night photography, so that I too can maximise my star burst potential? Anyone??

Cheers,

Bruce

In the film era I used a starburst filter occasionally. You could try that if you can find one.

Does it just turn the bokeh into star bursts? Hmm...

No it takes highlights and causes them to spike.
