Critically sharp? No. Impressionist? Perhaps. C.C. welcome as always.

K-3 / DA15ltd / f16 / 1 second hand held.
Looks good. I've done 4 stops under the recommended shutter speed (1/15, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1,) in similar braced shots. Well done!

The people on this thread get the most out of the lens regardless of any' defects' it is meant to have.
Keep on shooting and posting they are all liked by many.

Dave
Only photographers have defects

I lusted after this lens for years when I couldn't afford it..

I should have gone into debt to get it earlier

Good attempt and nice composition/location but 1sec is beyond IBIS, using f8 here would have allowed 1/4sec and very possibly a non-wobbly photo depending on your wobbliness

I've did 4sec "handheld" but rested on a gatepost and got a sharp nightscape with Samyang 14mm @ f2.8

A monopod is even good with the camera forced against a tree

When I'm in this kind of situation, where I want an overly-long exposure to smooth the water but don't have a tripod or somewhere to prop the camera, I usually shoot a brief burst of 3 or 4 images, because often the middle one or two wind up being the sharpest.

I've always wondered but never asked. Why do you smooth the water ?

Basically it's an artistic choice. Some folks like the contrast of smooth water against heavily-textured rocks and foliage. Of course it's not a realistic aesthetic, but it can be an appealing one.

Sometimes I'll take multiple shots with varying shutter speeds and sort out which I like better when I get home.

Man, it's been awhile since I took some pics. Here are a couple of indoor pics with the 15 mm.
