I forgot this thread was here, can't find any posts I've made in the thread so thought I better change that.

What prompted me was a bloke asking why the 15mm as he has the DA21. I have a 21mm lens and never thought of them as the same.

Anyhoo, here's the 15mm LTD on a K5 from a tumultuous day in Newcastle.

Lovely shot of the Grand Tetons. What's that horizontal line? Railway? What are we seeing there?

Thank you. I think those are trees at the base of the mountains.

HD version on KP, handheld. Zoomed in all the way to the "eye" this one can almost be a selfie

I didn't realize you could upload full resolution photos to Flickr. I did zoom in all the way and your image in the eyeball is not that sharp, but the in focus parts of the wood carving are very sharp. Very impressive.

It's more that the surface of the metal "eyes" itself is not perfectly reflective; it is almost a micro-hammered or stamped metal finish.

I usually don't upload full-resolution anything to anywhere, but I think this is a habit forged in my mid-twenties, when bandwidth was still pretty restricted and anything over 1MB was likely to frustrate viewers.

Yes. For all it's faults Flickr still has a firm hold on the social media of photographers. I keep renewing my "Pro" account for that reason.

PS The "eye ball" is textured which throws off the apparent sharpness.

The texture of the eye seems to cause the selfie image to be broken up but I wouldn’t say the eye wasn’t sharp. I’m not sure I read your post correctly though.
