I've been through DIA many times (I lived and worked in Boulder on and off over a number of years), but never saw the astronaut. I guess the flights to the moon are a recent innovation.

Ha! It was on one of the waiting areas for the mini subway to get between buildings. Kind of funny, you go down a few escalators to get to the subway, and this statue is waiting for you. I only had about a minute or less to get the camera out, take some shots, and put gear away, I had to keep going to get to my gate. I had never been to DIA before, didn't realize how bit it was going to be!

Haven't been to the Denver airport in several years, but it doesn't get that many international flights and around 2014-2015, arriving from Saskatoon, you had to walk/ride the moving walkways for at least two kilometres (maybe I exaggerate a little) to get to US Customs, then take your bags to the main check-in area and wait in line with everyone else before taking the train to catch your connecting flight. Never saw the astronaut, but I might have been too winded to notice.
