Thank you! I rented it a few years ago and enjoyed it, and now it's mine (cue demonic laughter). I'm not really a macro kind of guy - more like an extreme close-up guy (a subtle distinction)... I also like the short-tele/portrait lens aspect, and of course it has that nice build and WR.

Marmoset in bush, DFA 100mm portrait.
Marmosets are really tiny and move very quickly. I'm glad I got the focus right on its little face. Quickshift definitely helped. You can see a bigger version at link

As you've discovered its quite a versatile lens in its own right. I often bring it along with a couple of small limited primes to use as a compact telephoto...which together make for a brilliantly compact travel kit.

Yes - this is one of the (many) reasons I got it: a versatile, wr short-tele with excellent image quality. Perfect for hikes and beach trips, as your very nice picture illustrates.
