Just received my d fa 100 wr, I love it so far!
Definetely need a lot of stability to get good bug shots. But may be the sharpest lens I own regardless of the macro. i'ts insane!
A shot of my bird I liked

There is some seriously nice pictures on your flickr, I envy those that live close by nature. All that's around me is my birds and a bunch of spiders lol

I only bought the D-FA 100mm by accident, at first I didn't want it. But it was on sale at Jessops last year, at £250 I could not say no. Mine didn't come with a hood though, but then I guess...

Once I tried it out I was worried at first, since the pictures seemed blurry on my camera's screen. I have no idea what went wrong there, but once I copied them onto my computer I was blown away by the detail and sharpness of this lens, and its ability to blur backgrounds. I don't really do a lot of macro, but it's served me well for nature, portraits and as a general walkabout lens. I don't use it as often as my 21mm or my 50mm, but I'm usually glad to have it with me!

Sometimes WR is really useful. Today's estimated max is 44ºC, so I took this while in the pool.

Other creatures had the same idea. This one is also posted in the macro club.

is there an optimal setting to control the purple fringing on this lens? I have this lens as part of my WR kit for my K-5 along with my DA* 55... But I often get purple fringing wide open... I had been using a CPL and for the most part helps.. but I wonder if there is a setting on the body I can use to control it bit more.

I just fix it in Lightroom -- really easy with version 4.

Very nice ! Just got the K-01 several weeks ago but haven't had the opportunity to shoot it with the DFA 100 Macro WR yet. What I see here is very encouraging, especially with the teleconverter
