Vivitar 28mm f2.8 (Cosina)

Some impatiens (touch-me-nots), petunia, etc. The impatiens are third-generation as I keep seeds each year and plant them in the spring as a fun project. (Pentax K200D, ISO100, "sunny-16" exposure rules f5.6, f8, f11.)

Vivitar close focus 100-200mm f4

The komine made vivitar 100-200mm f4 close focus - a "sleeper" lens. A worthy accompaniment to its much better known stable mates the 70-210mm and 28-90mm. See for yourself. All K3, PP from RAW.

Stonechat. Big crop, f8, 200mm. Lack of fringing notable.

100mm f8

ditto

1:1 pixel peep crop:

f4.

f8

f8

200mm f8

1:1 pixel peep crop. Prime = resolution.

I already rate this one of the very best zooms from the era - late 1970's?

Finally got a few test shots on the K3 with the Kiron version of the 28mm f/2 I picked up a few weeks ago after remembering to ask my father-in-law to take off the excess rear flange which prevented it from mounting on an AF DSLR.

These look pretty good but they are stopped down a little (first one at f/4, second at f/2.8 or 3.5).

Kiron-made Vivitar 28mm f/2. I think both of these were taken wide open.

Vivitar has 'built' and badged so many 28s - an older one from me - also the Komine Close Focus 2.8 this one on a K20D
