Here are a few of the cherry blossoms using the Vivitar 90mm f/2.8. I bought this at a decent price as I'd been hankering over a 100-ish mm macro for ages and finally got this one. I've been disappointed with it's performance wide open and shortly after buying it I got an AF Sigma 105mm f/2.8 at a superb price and it blows the Vivitar out of the water. So I only had it with me as I'd been going to meet someone to sell him the lens but in the end he couldn't make it. Stopped down to f/4.5 it's performance is pretty good (at least on APS-C) for macro shots. These were taken on the Fujifilm X-T20.  This is a cheap scanner scan of a slide I took on some kind of Fujichrome around 1981 at a marsh near Kalamazoo, Michigan. The lens had to be my Vivitar f3.8 75-205mm (2-touch version) close-focusing zoom and it would have been mounted on my first slr body, a Ricoh TLS Singlex. This is cropped slightly to give the frog more prominence. | |

I was testing the Vivitar 90/2.8 macro for flare as the sun was low. Wow - it really does like to flare. The first one was put through a VSCO filter to give it a nice, warm pink tone.
