Vivitar 200mm f3.5 T4 - original version

I acquired this classic old vivitar 200mm f3.5 a while ago. T4 mount, tokina made. It's a good un IMO. These with my samsung NX20.

Zowwie! Those ARE crisp images!

Seems to be an outstanding vintage lens.

T4 viv 200mm f3.5 + K3

Impressed by the results with my Samsung NX20, I took the T4 viv 200 out with my K3.

Vivitar TX 200mm f3.5

I made a move on this TX 200mm f3.5 to acquire the PK mount it came with. It's quite different to the earlier T4 version I posted about in post #829. It seems pretty clear that the TX vivs are just the equivalent Tokina RMC prime with the TX mount instead of a fixed mount. I haven't seen a tokina nameplate version of the T4 viv 200 (there are plenty of soligors however).

I was impressed with the T4 and I like this lens too, a bit softer at f3.5, plenty sharp as soon as its stopped down. A bit of fringing is quite evident, diminishing steadily as the f-stop goes up. It's pretty close between the two in terms of IQ, IMO, so far ... a case of do you prefer the 1970's look or the 1980's look on your camera ...
These with my samsung NX20.

Cropped.

Mate that looks like one half decent old lens, there was one at Cashies I looked at earlier today, along with a 300mm prime that I passed on, maybe I'll go back to strike a deal on the buggers.

Tele Vivitar 400/5.6

Playing around with this lens I picked up for $11.00. It's a bit soft and prone to fringing, but it has whetted my appetite for longer lenses

I took the Vivitar (Kiron) 28mm f/2 to the Alcazar in Segovia at the weekend, though I didn't feel much photographic inspiration. I should have taken the X-T20 instead of the K-3 for manual focusing.

I'm surprised to see such good flare control in a photo like that from such an old lens. I also have the Komine but at the moment only have access to the Kiron.

Vivitar (Kiron) 28mm f/2 again
