I'll help to bump along.

First Viv S1 28-90.

Then Viv S1 28-105

Then Viv 135 2.8 Close Focus

Nice. I especially like that 1st one. I have that same lens in m42 mount, and it's probably one of my favorite 135s.

The vivitar Vivitar 135 2.8 looks great. As soon as I get my vivitar 70-210 3.5 fixed I will continue to post here.

Can anyone shed some light on this lens. I paid $90 to get it serviced, and was told is was basically a Vivitar 28mm f2.8. I gather there is a relationship between Sakar and Vivitar, but am not sure what it is.
Here is a picture of the lens, and an unmodified test photo taken with it.

Arnold- you may like to look through this thread and the connecting links and check your lens specs against some of those listed and be able to work out just who made the copy you are shooting with:

As usual - kudos to rparmar

Yeah, it's a 28xxxxx. I still want the SMC K 135 2.5, but am in no hurry because of this lens.

Thanks fellows. The problem is that the lens name is Sakar, but it may be that Sakar used the same manufacturers as Vivitar. My understanding is that Saka now own the Vivitar name. The construction of the lens is very solid with heavy metal, but it may be too old for the later coatings for flare control. I need to test if further.
