I think you'd be happier if you cleaned your sensor

Lovely mountains...makes me pine for the outdoors.

Hmmm... I guess I thought that was the lens!

Get a Giottos Rocket Blower to try to get the dust off your sensor. Until then, you can always clone out those spots in your photo editor. Use the clone or healing tool to erase them. Nice shot, btw!

That's clearly lens dust. Rocket blower will take care of the easy ones; you'll need to wet clean your sensor for the stubborn ones. Using the blower often helps keep the stubborn ones at bay.

Thanks. This was mainly to validate my exposure for the Bronica, so I hope it turned out.

Use it at your own discretion. It's probably overkill and it might damage something in the camera or push dust inside it.

Others might want to chime in...

If there is a substantial difference in temperature between the room and the camera and the can, water vapor may condensate inside the camera, which is worst. A hand operated blow should do it. You can buy the wipes and clean it yourself too. I go it. First one, took me one hour. Now, it takes 2 minutes.

I just noticed this thread, and I'm replying so I can follow it. When I got my Sony Nex-5R, I started buying a bunch of Vivitar lenses. I've sold some since then, but still have a few, including an RL Edition 28/2.8 Close Focus. The only ones that I can use on the K-30, however, are a basic 55/2.8 and a 200/3.5, both in M42 mount. The others are OM or MD mount. I haven't tried the 55 or 200 on the K-30 yet, but this thread makes me curious. Except for the 55, which is a Cosina, all of my Vivitars were from Komine.

Can anyone shed some light on this lens. I paid $90 to get it serviced, and was told is was basically a Vivitar 28mm f2.8. I gather there is a relationship between Sakar and Vivitar, but am not sure what it is.
Here is a picture of the lens, and an unmodified test photo taken with it.
I can't help you with the manufacturing relationship, but I have a Sakar 135mm f/2.5 for my Sony. It is a fine lens. I haven't been able to find out much about Sakar, either.

My Vivitar 200mm f3.5 is a Komine made one, I like it a lot.

I just picked up a K-mount Vivitar Macro-Focusing 75-205mm f3.8 in mint condition for a good price. I've have great success with the Vivitar lenses I've used on my Sony Nex-5R, and I've read a lot of good things about the 75-205. Many of the sample images I've seen have been quite good. I'm looking forward to getting it on my K-30.

Hi Tony
Thank you for your input. Looking forward to seeing you imAges in this thread. I have had two versions of the 75 - 205. One Tokina made and one Kiron made. I am currently using a Komine 75 250 that I like for that approx focal length. All have been Vivitar branded.
