Originally posted by goatsNdonkey Snazzy little plane. And I DO like the paint job's reference to a pre-CGI cartoon character, but it occurs to me that its shape is quite reminiscent of a British Spitfire and it might look startlingly amazing in WWII-style camouflage. Did the Brits use cartoon mascots, or only Yanks...I can't recall?
The airplane caught my eye because I'm of an age that
Underdog was a Saturday morning staple. Along with
Dudley Do-Right, Magilla Gorilla, QuickDraw McGraw and my favorite
Fractured Fairy Tales. The plane is one of the Sport Class, home built or kit aircraft powered by less than 1000 CI and capable of at least 200 mph. I don't know if the Brits used cartoon characters on their warbirds but there was a plane from Scotland and a plane from Australia racing this year.
My apologies for posting a short lens here but this is a closeup of the Aussie's racing jet.
