Yep, now that I have both versions I need to do a more in-depth comparison though from my use so far I'd have to say that the performance is very similar - some glow below f/2.8 but usable in some situations, pretty sharp at f/2.8 with minimal aberrations (very usable) and very sharp by f/4.

The Komine version would win some points for convenience - 49mm filter thread, not having to cut off the excess rear flange and having a non-rotating front.

Came out a little soft, but it was a long shot and taken as it opened it's wings. Series 1 70-210 @ 210

Testing out 1:1 macro hand-held using the Vivitar 90mm f/2.8. These are the spines from a cactus.

I picked up a lens this morning, a Vivitar 35mm F1.9 M42 mount. It does not appear to be rare or particularly sought after though some auction prices indicate some interest in it.
Anyway, wide open it suffers a bit and improves as the aperture is closed down as would be expected. Not had a chance to use it much this afternoon but I am liking it so far.
A couple of images at F1.9 and an image and crop stopped down a bit. S.O.O.C jpegs except for down sizing.

I hadn't been aware that Vivitar made a 35/1.9 until now. Performance looks fairly decent - cool bokeh.

I see Mmouse has reviewed it today in the third party lens reviews.
