I think it is the impression many of us have that there is softening of uploaded pics. You'd have to discuss with Adam for precise insight. Lots of posters link to flickr. I normally link to images uploaded to own web site server to preserve iq.

Thanks, I'll be using flickr from now on. I've been long overdue to start uploading my work anyway. Hosting your own server is a cool idea, though I don't think I'd want to handle the cost or effort just yet. Maybe I'll look into hosting my own site on a raspi; I'm always looking for neat projects to do with those.

Here's another 28mm, shot in downtown Toronto though a car window.

I didn't buy the Vivitar 17mm f/3.5 (made by Tokina) to use on digital, I bought it to use on film in all it's super-wide-angle glory, but I took it our for a few shots at the weekend just to test it out a bit.

This was taken at f/5.6

and at f/8

not sure about the aperture of this one:

The lens seems to perform decently well. It's not super sharp at any aperture, bokeh is unsurprisingly busy, colour and contrast are as expected for such an old lens. I'm looking forward to trying it out on film and comparing it to my Cosina 19-35mm, which is likely to be sold off.

Nice image quality, congrats on the new acquisition. Look forward to seeing film shots from it.

Don't hold your breath - I'm about two years behind on my developing and scanning, though I've continued to shoot as much as ever, if not more.

The first snowfall of the year and beautiful draft horses made fine subjects for my K3 and old manual focus Vivitar 28-210 f3.8-5.6 PK-A zoom.
