It's in a cornfield north of my property where no livestock are kept. If it were in my pasture, I would remove it, as I do with milkweed and dogbane. It takes very little dogbane to kill a goat.

I encourage milkweed in my little piece of urban forest for the sake of the monarch butterflies. Is it an agricultural hazard?

I love milkweed, but the toxic principals in milkweeds are similar to those in dogbane. My donkey ignores milkweed, but I don't want it in places where my goats might graze, in case they aren't that smart. Most of my place is wild, so that only applies to the small improved and fenced pasture, or nearby areas where escaped goats might go.

Ah, ok, thanks--I don't think any goats are in danger here.. Too bad it doesn't seem to put a dent in the deer population.

The authorities frown on hunting here in town.

I believe the hunter in your picture specializes in hunting "wabbits," not deer.

Now, for something entirely different!

Yesterday I was doing some front/rear focusing checks with the 150-500 HSM OS and I noticed that the foot of the TS-31 tripod collar looked remarkably like the mounting plates for ARCA-style tripod clamps, and so I tried to see if it would actually fit into the ARCA-compatible clamp on the top of the tripod - and it did (just!, although there was slight scuff marks of the sides of the collar foot)!

Wonder who had the "idea" first?
