Sorry about that. Guess this is what happens when you try and use a computer early on a Monday morning with no Coffee
I will contact the site administrator to see if the post can be moved to the thread I intended to make the post. Else I will delete it

Or we Sigma owners could show how amazingly generous and forgiving we are...............and just not make a big deal out of the mis-post.

No problem my post has been moved to the FA-UnLimited Club Thread. I'm just glad, considering the subject, people who normally follow this thread were able to see the pictures before being moved to a thread they may not follow

Here is a link to the post

The Sigma EX DG HSM (non-IF, penultimate version in PKAF mount) is the best AF full frame zoom I own, without doubts.
I have no complaints. I prefer to shoot primes, and if possible I shoot with manual focus lenses, but when the conditions call for AF, I know I can rely on this lens.
If there are fast moving subjects, especially at night, the keepers rate is already hampered by the objectionable performance of the AFC. Using MF lenses would seriously decrease the number of correctly focused images.
My K-1 does better than previous models, as far as tracking is concerned, but it still lags behind other AF cameras that have many more AF sensors and a much better AI (that makes the camera choose the subject in the foreground instead of those in the background!).
I went out to shoot the traditional parade on the last day of Loi Krathong festival, in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
I brought many objectives, AF and MF, but in the end I used only the Sigma.
Depending on the subject, I used either AFS or AFC, and I had no problems with the more static subjects.
With moving groups of people, and with plenty of spectators getting in the picture all the time, I had a number of badly focused shots. Even more so with fast moving subjects like sword dancers or other very dynamic subjects.
I should abandon my film era attitude and start to spray and pray, taking far more shots than I usually do.
Coming from large format photography, it's a totally new mindset. I should try to adapt...

Here are a few rather static pics, quickly post processed without selective corrections.
I used the lens correction profile available for Nikon full frame cameras with identical/similar Sony sensors. It seems to work fine.

The color cast on the subjects is due to very warm street lights. Unfortunately the background lights are way colder.
If I adjust for one, the other would be totally off.
I decided that it was preferable to leave the skin tones very warm. In hinsight I should have tried to compensate more.

Taken with my new Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM. I will have to make a plan with correcting the barrel distortion at the very wide end - no profile for it in Darktable. I am very happy with it.

This image is one of my very first. It was taken at the shopping center where I bought it.

Some of my first shots with a used Sigma f4-5.6 70-300mm DL Macro Super auto-focus lens that are also some of my first shots with the barely used Pentax K-R dslr that also arrived this morning. The K-R is not a replacement for my K10D or K110D, more an exploration of the world of the CMOS sensor and less noisy high iso performance and some other features. These were all taken at iso 1600 and between f4 an 4.5, handheld in rather low available light: only the Christmas lights or only a single candle.
