I'm sure that you'll LOVE the 17-70 V1. I love mine that I've had for 6+ years now.

I recently picked up a new-to-me Sigma 17-70 v.1 (thanks, SpecialK!), but haven't had a chance to give it a workout. But I'm liking what I see so far. Meanwhile, a couple from my old standby 28-90:

Paul you'll love that lens. I gave mines to my brother and I picked up the new Contemporary version and really they are both great lens.

Thanks guys - I love it already I'm impressed with the range, the sharpness, colors & close-focus abilities. I'm sure it'll be my go-to everyday lens.

Not meant to be anything great, just a symptom of what's driving me insane this year. March 31, officially spring, baseball season opening day with my 17-70

I'm with you but part of what's insane is the 3/31 Opening Day. I'm sorry but baseball is a summer sport. This is lacrosse season (you're from Long Island--you should know that ;~)

So, I picked up a used Sigma 105mm Macro a bit ago. I haven't had much opportunity to shoot any macro with it yet, but as a general short telephoto I am totally in love with it.

Works pretty well for a pet portrait.

And does a decent job with low flying corgi's too.

I'm really, really, happy with this lens.

I love the flying Corgi! And @EJMzagsfan , that ground-level dandelion shot is fantastic! You've turned a common weed into something magical.

The 30mm f/1.4 is still my favorite lens, ever, especially at the dog park. None of my other lenses have quite the same "pop" as this one.

Very pretty star burst through the trees, nice set of shots. The bridge is really good.

Cheers,
