I recently got a Sigma 28-80 Macro in mint condition for an absurdly low price, and I'm tickled pink with it! It's sharp, easy to use, lightweight!

Here's a handheld macro with it:

neat I recently got the same or similar lens.....28-80 1:2 and its been great! use it with +4 and +10 close up filters with pleasing to me results!

Was hiking to a place where I thought there would be a nice panorama so only packed 2 lenses: Sigma 10-20 and Sigma 17-50. Wouldn't you know it???...all the worthwhile shots were really macro shots and I was not packing my Pentax 100WR.

Anyway, with judicious cropping at 40%-67% was able to get reasonable prints, I think, of subjects that really would have done much better with a macro--particularly the 100mm macro in the first 2 cases.

All shots at 50mm.

Thanks - for a lens that costs (and weighs) next to nothing, it does pretty well.
