Wow! Glad I ran into this thread. After deliberating forever between the Sigma105mm and the Pentax DFA 100mm, I purchased the Sigma and I simply cannot wait. I especially like that the lens can be used for macro (my main goal for this purchase), a little bit for portraits and maybe even some action shots.

This hobby is just as addicting as my #1 hobby (guitars). I just bought one other lens so I may be selling a guitar pedal soon.

Hope to post some pics soon.
How about joining the two hobbies and posting some pictures of your guitars?

That's what I want to do.....but I'm still so new to the world of photography. I'm still learning the basics. Whenever I get the hang of it and learn to use my new equipment, I'll definitely post some pics. I already have quite a few glam shots of my guitars taken by the builders.

Ahh, but yours has done a wonderful job of Make up and has that Super-model pose down perfectly ;-)
Yeah definitely!

Some wedding shots from last weekend:

Both with Sigma 85mm 1.4.

I think I'm over using this lens, but its just so easy to get good shots (at least to me) from it.

Got this lens yesterday from a fellow forum member. Looks like a great lens but I am still somewhat clueless on how to use it. These don't look too bad for a newbie who still has a lot to learn and a long way to go.

Not sure why but I kinda like these. Don't blame the 105mm macro lens. It's all the newbie user fault who is learning rather slowly.
