Had a bit of fun yesterday instead of getting the jobs done... while stacking the wood in the shed I came across a few of these little guys so I had to go get my camera, needless to say the wood didn't get done. Here are a couple of favorites.

I believe they are Southern Brown Tree Frogs except the last one. It was more of a toadlet being very stocky and about 2X the size of the others. So If anyone knows just drop a line so I can tag appropriately.

Edit: upon further research I think it is a Striped Marsh Frog
Edit #2: Should Note, shot with Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG MACRO

Nice set, Scott. I especially like #1 for how the background resembles frog skin, and the interesting perspective.

Cheers, It was actually quite a lot of fun shooting these guys in a terribly frustrating way..

It's a little quiet over in this thread so here is a X-post from the fisheye club which I just joined after a terrible week at the hands of LBA. I got my hands on 3 new-to-me lenses including the Sigma 15mm Fisheye. The last one I had the hood on which caused a little vignetting.

Couple of rough shots with it to start.

Which camera Scott? I thought the Sigma 15mm was a full frame lens; if the hood is encroaching on a cropped sensor that's no good at all....

Shot with the K-7, There is a built in petal shaped hood which has no influence what so ever, but there is an extended hood to give your shots that vignetted look and allows the use of standard lens caps.

That's an impressive shot.
Surprisingly well controlled distortion

I was actually gunning for a 10-17 fisheye for the flexibility, but a guy I know was selling his k-7, tamron Di 90mm Macro, and this fish-eye at a reasonable price so I jumped at the chance to get a fisheye, the other stuff was just surplus. I have a Sigma EX 105mm Macro F2.8 (non DG variant) so the macro wasn't necessary and I don't need another body, but at the time I thought awesome, I can dual wield like a pro. Needless to say I might have to have a gear sale in the coming weeks as I have a few lenses that just don't get much love I just have to work out which ones I can let go without getting sad about.

K-7 & Sigma EX DG 180mm f/3.5 macro

Amazing frogs Chaos_Realm.

I have not posted anything in a while. Here are a few i took at the Horicon National Wildlife Reserve. Thank you for looking.

1. I actually desaturated this one a bit. Then I sharpened using the high pass filter method.

2.

3.

4.

Yes, the intense red of a Columbine tends to blow out otherwise. With my Sigma 70/2.8 I likewise find I have to dial back the color on such subjects, sometimes. Try Cardinal Flower for an even more intense red. Nice catch with the bee.

A busy scene shot with my only Sigma lens - a $10 A-type 28-84 MF zoom . Focus was on the top left butterfly. (crop)

Sigma 70-200/2.8 @ 3.2. This lens is so heavy but very sharp.

I just bought my second and third Sigma Lenses. I had the 70-200 2.8 and added the 10-20 3.5 and the 150-500 zoom with OS. Can anyone share their experiences of using the K-5 SR versus the Sigma 150-500 OS - I'd appreciate the chance to hear from those who have examined the trade offs. Thanks.
