The head-on viewpoint works well in that shot. K.
Thank you, I almost had to lay down on the ground to get that angle. Getting up off the ground is hard enough these days with the Bigma on the K3 it makes if a real chore.

That lens never ceases to impress. I love the subtle tones in the color version.

Thank you! The lens has been sitting idle for a long while, but it pairs nicely with the K-01. To me, the two versions are almost
completely different pictures - my wife prefers the mono version, but I can't decide. Happily, I don't have to.

They are both lovely but I agree with your wife as to which one I prefer. K.

In my limited experience with the AF super wide II, it seems to do much better up close than further away - is that a common experience with this lens? Still, close up it does just fine.

I shot this one wide open (at iso 1600 - nice sensor on the K01!)...

I guess that's been it's been my experience but I never thought of it as an attribute of the lens so much as my shooting tendency.

I have just found that the optical characteristics of the lens seem to be less stellar in the mid to far distances.

It's possible I made the same judgement unconsciously. I tend not to over-think these things (to put it mildly ;~).

Neither do I. In this case, I was pleased with what I was seeing in some photos, and then disappointed by others - expecting the same quality, and not getting it. I was hoping for a traditional 35mm eq. `photojournalism' lens, but I don't think this is it.
