My First Day with My New Sigma 150-500

I just bought a Sigma 150-500mm from the Marketplace here on the forum.

It is interesting. When you get a new big lens, you don't care what you shoot as long as it is far away. So I thought I would share a couple with you. They are not that good, but they were fun to take. I did learn that even with the big lens things can still be too far away.

Cattle Egret

Water Lily

The Chancellor of the Exchequer (She okay'd the purchase)

Little Blue Heron

Little Blue Heron - Again

Black-Bellied Whistling Ducks - Far enough away that only the top duck was visible to the naked eye

Just for Purposes of Science. This Sign was over a quarter-mile away and this crop is only 420 pixels wide. Even from more than 440 yards away, you can still see the bolt heads - and to me that ain't bad.

And the longer the lens, the harder it is to move closer to the subject.

A sunset with Sigma 35mm f1.4. Notice the spectacular flare in the first picture.
