Did you get the HSM version? I had a chance to get one awhile ago but I knew I would not enough to justify it. Looks like you got a really nice copy.

Yes, Scorpio, so it means there are days when I can head out with the K-1 and a two lens heavy, HSM, f1.4 combination of this and the 35 Art.

Sigma 8-16 on the K3.

I messed this shot up, being a 100 degrees Fahrenheit out I was really taking my time.

I managed a little better on this one.

I really didn't find the Sigma too heavy I just knew I would not use it enough. It is not a particularly cheap lens even used. I have a Rokinon 85 1.4 that I can still use. How do you like the 35 Art? I have heard many bad stories about focusing problems. That is one lens I would use.

It's *massive*, Michael!

The FA77 can do virtually everything it does and is much smaller, so that's what I'll tend to use when wandering far from the car or home.

Oh, I really like it. No problems with AF on my copy (most of those horror stories are about the 30 and 18-35 Arts, not so much the 35) and I had the Sigma importer change the mount over so it wouldn't leave a mark on the K-1.

Again, it's huge, so I use the FA31 more often, but I have no issue with its pics whatsoever:

I almost bought a FA77 last year. I regret not buying it. I bought a Sigma 180 Macro 3.5 which is a much rarer find. I came across one for an unheard of price in K mount. The Sigma 85 was a local purchase so I actually held it. Yeah it is a massive hunk of glass. Sigma was never really known for compact lenses it seems. The FA 77 is still on my list. Probably a next year purchase. I picked up a FA20-35 unexpectedly because I got one at a reasonable price. My lens budget is now 100% frozen until I decide if I'm upgrading my K-1 or not.

Those shots from the Sigma 35 are outstanding. That really is a special lens. It is good to hear the focusing issues have been addressed.

Yeah, you could shoot all week with just the FA20-35 for the f8 context pictures and the FA77 for the subject isolation stuff.

Love your 180mm Macro pics!

Very true, I'm still learning with FA 20-35 on the K-1. It is definitely is a different lens.

Thank you, I never figured I would own the Sigma 180 Macro. Usually they sell for around 800 US Dollars. Then I came across one in mint condition for 450 US Dollars. I jumped on it figuring it was now or never. It has been a trying lens to learn. It is twice the size of my DFA 100 Macro WR. I did not expect to get the FA 20-35. I won that on an EBay auction. I was shocked to get the message that I won it. I figured I was going to get outbid as usual.

Another Sigma 180 Macro, K-1, and AF540FGZII flash.
