Is this the old f/5.8 version?

Maybe I should get one after all.
It's the SMC DA -300 f4-5.8.

No WR. No PLM.

I have that lens. I replaced a DA-L version with it so I could have Quick Shift. The DA-L was optically fine and so is the one Thagomizer and I have. The PLM is a bit better optically, and has better AF, but SWMBO has forbidden spending that kind of money for camera stuff for a while. I'll have to sneak it in at McBain in Lethbridge for pick up there and turn in my trade in and hope she doesn't notice the difference. On the other hand, there is replacing the M 400/5.6 with something with auto diaphragm control, you know, that cheapest of Pentax lenses, the 560 ... I think she might notice that, though.

The 55-300 PLM is risky enough... the DA 560 is really asking for trouble, hiding that lens would be harder than hiding a pink camera

Here's my cherished DA 16-45 at Carters Lake in north Georgia.
Nice photos! That looks like one heck of a dam - from what I can see in the photos it looks to be very tall!!

Albert, if it would help hide the 560 purchase I'll be glad to give you my address!

DA 16-45 at 16 - 4 shots panorama

I was suprised that this lens is good for panoramas at its wide end, but it worked flawlessly..

Thank you! Yes it's pretty tall and it has hydroelectric generators at its release point. Thankfully not all big energy generators in the US are nuclear

This image makes me wonder where the spray is coming from.

One suspects a bit of cropping here ...

The spray comes from a bucket filled with cold water.

I dropped by the Coppell (TX) Car show last weekend. It wasn't as big as a few years ago, but still a good one. More images coming soon. DA16-45 on K10D:
