I've barely used the DA 50-200mm WR since I took it on a trip to the states four years ago, as I wasn't impressed with it's performace, but I took it along to the balloon festival as I didn't want the bulk of the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 and last year that lens gave me some nasty yellow-tinted skies due to it's coatings. I had no need for the fast aperture either so the DA went along.

I think I may have mistaken softness for mis-focus. I'll need to play around a bit more with the AF fine-tuning but in live view it produces really nice images which are very sharp, at least stopped down a little.

The tree trimmers were here last week, and I thought I'd put the K10D and DAL 55-300 to work. Those trees are pretty tall, and I admired how those guys were able to shimmy up & down the way they did!

Da 55-300 wr & k-3

A juvenile Barn Swallow stares me down while resting on a rusty bridge guardrail. Taken at 300mm and enlarged/cropped nearly 1:1 pixel level. The DA 55-300mm WR is very impressive for a consumer level lens indeed.

The Wings Over Camarillo Airshow is going on this weekend. I'm not gonna be able to attend, but some of the aircraft pilots were courteous enough to buzz by the house a few times. This was one of my first attempts to capture fast moving aircraft in flight, and luckily I was able to get a few semi-decent shots This is a P-47 "Jug" - DAL 55-300 on K-5:
