Bull Elk (DA 55-300mm)

Shot in Cataloochee Valley -- there is a second Elk behind the first one, hence the too many legs and extra antlers.

Queuing up for the bird feeder 6 weeks ago (no more snow now!). SMC DA 55-300 on K-1 mk II uncropped. The 55-300 can be used uncropped on the K-1 for certain f-stop/focal length combos. Shot @ 300mm, f/9, 1/320, ISO 1250 (through a window pane, so not optimal conditions).

I dream of having a big backyard with trees to put bird houses. That way they will have a nice place to live and I will have more bird photos.

We have a good backyard, but in that picture what you're seeing is the beginning of the woods in the back of our house. Part of it is owned by our subdivision and there's a huge amount of native woods owned by the Army Corps of Engineers. I can hike for at least a half an hour into those woods, it's great. We love living here...

I can imagine. Yesterday I went for a hike and saw a lot of houses with their backyards connected to the woods like you said. Must be awesome.
